Y-Drill (Reactive Agility Test)
Measure reactive agility and decision-making speed in response to unpredictable stimuli.
Overview
The Y-Drill, often facilitated via Custom Tests, assesses reactive agility. An athlete sprints forward to a decision point where a stimulus (e.g., Ledsreact Pro light) directs them to one of two or more angled branches. This tests the ability to change direction in response to an unpredictable cue.
Key Benefits:
Assess true 'game agility' by incorporating cognitive elements
Measure decision-making speed under pressure
Quantify reaction to unpredictable stimuli
Critical for sports requiring rapid, reactive movements
